Meet Lessie, a gentle and shy girl with a heart full of love, ready for a second chance at happiness. Lessie was found tied to the fence at our shelter in Mexico, a difficult start to life that she has overcome with remarkable grace. She is incredibly sweet and finds comfort in the company of other dogs, thriving in their presence.
Lessie is blossoming with the help of our dedicated dog trainer. She's gaining confidence daily and is already a pro on the leash, walking beautifully. The busy shelter environment can be a bit overwhelming for her sensitive nature, and she can be nervous when first meeting new people. She truly needs a patient and experienced adopter who can provide a stable and loving environment for her to truly feel safe and cherished.
Ideal Home
Lessie would thrive in a quiet, calm, and predictable home environment. She'd do best with teens or adults and would love a spacious yard, a ranch-style setting, or an active household that enjoys hiking adventures. While not required, a home with another friendly dog would be a wonderful bonus for Lessie. She is already potty and leash trained, which is a great head start!

Transporation
Lessie is currently located near Bucerias, Mexico. We facilitate adoptions to the US and Canada. Approved adopters are matched with volunteer flight companions ("flight angels") traveling from Puerto Vallarta to transport pets. You will meet your new companion at the airport upon arrival. During summer months, it can be challenging to find Canadian flight angels, so transport to the US with pick-up at Peace Arch Park on the border is a common and successful alternative.
