PawPaw Jennings is a handsome 6 year old Southern gentleman. He came to Heartland from our shelter partner in Alabama, an isolated area where adopters don't come looking for even the best dogs like him.
While his ears seem to have a mind of their own, PawPaw likes to follow the rules. We learned about what a gentle, well mannered, social dog he was from his foster in Alabama, and knew he'd be perfect for just about any family!
A volunteer took PawPaw for a walk right after he arrived at our shelter, and loved his quiet demeanor so much, she asked to foster him. After she'd had him in her home for about a week, we asked for some feedback about him. She said:
"PawPaw is a perfect companion. He is housebroken and can roam free in the house when I go out with no accidents. PawPaw is calm and gentle in every sense. He waits for permission to get on furniture and is very polite taking treats. PawPaw loves to go on walks and is curious about everything. He romps and plays in the yard, rolling around in the grass, showing his belly for a quick scratch. He is affectionate and loving. He wants to be in the same room you are in, or at least keep one eye on you.
PawPaw will quickly flow into your schedule. He has lived with other dogs and easily joined in with the doggy play groups during his stay at the shelter. Most importantly, Paw Paw loves cheese! But who doesn't?"
Who doesn't love a "plug and play" dog? He comes out of the box well trained, and ready to give all the love and loyalty you could ask for!

PawPaw Jennings's adoption fee is $300. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
