Navajo, a 6.5-year-old, neutered male Pitbull mix weighing 75 pounds, is a sweet, affectionate, and easygoing pup looking for his forever home. He's the perfect blend of playful energy and relaxed companionship, happy to join you on walks or simply curl up nearby. Navajo enjoys playing with other dogs, preferring one-on-one or small group interactions over large, chaotic packs. He's generally good at reading social cues, though he might occasionally need gentle redirection if he gets a bit too excited. He has a history of doing well with dogs of all sizes, and proper introductions help him succeed, especially with larger dogs. Navajo is polite and non-reactive on leash, though he might pull a little when initially excited. He is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and can be left loose in the house without any signs of separation anxiety. Navajo loves meeting new people and has shown no concerns around children, though interactions with very young children haven't been fully tested. He would do best in a cat-free home due to a strong prey drive observed towards cats. Navajo is affectionate, playful, smart, curious, silly, and independent. He adores toys and is a champion cuddler. He's also an excellent car rider, a staff favorite at the vet, has no issues with stairs, and loves to nap in cozy, unusual spots. Navajo has shown no resource guarding. He did require dental work upon arrival, including the removal of several damaged teeth, but his remaining teeth are healthy and he still enjoys chewing bones.
Ideal Home
Navajo would thrive in a stable, moderately active home that enjoys daily walks, occasional outings, and plenty of affection. He doesn't need an ultra-active lifestyle, just consistent exercise, love, and companionship. He could do well as an only dog or with a compatible canine friend. He would do best in a cat-free home.
Ongoing Health
Navajo required dental work upon arrival, including the removal of several damaged teeth, including his canines. His remaining teeth are healthy, and he still happily chews his favorite bones without any trouble.
Training & Support
Navajo is generally well-behaved but may occasionally need gentle redirection if he gets a little too excited during play. He may pull a little at the start of walks when he's excited, but settles in to be a pleasant walking partner.
