Meet Emmit!

Emmit is an 8.5-pound neutered Yorkie, born around September 4, 2024, who is searching for his perfect forever person. Emmit has been adopted a few times, and each time he returned because he forms a very intense attachment to one person and struggles to accept others. Families have described him as a wonderful lap dog, but if he gets overstimulated by other people, he may bite. Emmit is not the type of dog who loves everyone he meets; he needs an experienced adopter who understands that trust must be earned. Once Emmit chooses his person, he is incredibly devoted and wants nothing more than to be in their lap or by their side. He forms a very strong bond with one person and prefers to keep that person all to himself, which can lead to possessive behavior around others.

Ideal Home

Emmit's ideal home is with a single adult where he can be the only pet. He is not a good fit for homes with children or other animals. If visitors are present, Emmit needs to be safely kenneled to prevent any incidents.

Ongoing Health

Emmit's adoption fee of $400 includes his neuter, current vaccinations, microchip, 4dx negative, ProHeart 12, and Bravecto.

Training & Support

Emmit needs an adopter who understands his need to build trust slowly and can manage his possessive behaviors by providing him with space and a safe place like a kennel when needed.
