Hi, my name is Smoky! I'm a dachshund/beagle mix pup who was rescued from a small kennel at a hunter's home. I'm learning to become a loved family member and it is GREAT! I'm doing okay with my potty training, but I'm still young so sometimes I have accidents if you're not paying close attention. My most favorite thing about being a family pet is kids! I love kids! The small humans are so much fun and really bring out my personality and playfulness. I also love having another dog to play with! I prefer one around my size or not much bigger. Sometimes they can scare me if they're super big. I'm also part beagle, so I can be a bit of an escape artist when it comes to fences. I need a sturdy, climb-proof fence or someone who can leash walk me to potty. I can't help it, my nose gets the best of me sometimes and I just have to find that rabbit! If you think I could be a good fit for you and your family, please give me a chance! I promise to try and be the best boy ever!
Ideal Home
Smoky loves kids and would thrive in a family environment. He also enjoys the company of other dogs, preferably around his size or not much larger, as big dogs can sometimes scare him. Due to his beagle instincts, a sturdy, climb-proof fence is essential, or a commitment to leash walking for potty breaks, as he can be an escape artist when his nose catches a scent.
