At 5.5 months old, Macie is a resilient and spirited puppy who survived a difficult start in life. She and her littermates were found abandoned in the cold, but thankfully, they were rescued and brought into loving foster homes where they could thrive. Macie is a bold, intelligent, and energetic heeler mix with an insatiable curiosity. She loves to play, especially with other dogs, and is always eager to learn and explore. This vibrant girl is looking for a life full of adventure and purpose, not a quiet one!
Ideal Home
Macie is an active and intelligent dog who requires a home that understands and can meet the needs of a herding breed. She thrives with structure, consistent training, and plenty of mental and physical enrichment. Adopters should be experienced with heelers and committed to providing her with the activity and guidance she needs to be a well-adjusted companion. Due to her high energy and herding instincts, she would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children. While she enjoys playing with other dogs, finding a compatible playmate can be challenging, so she may be better suited as an only pet for adopters who cannot facilitate a meet-and-greet.
Ongoing Health
All dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccinations and microchips.
Training & Support
Heelers are driven and smart dogs that need proper outlets for their energy and intelligence. Without consistent training and enrichment, they can become frustrated. Transporation
Macie is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. Virtual meet-and-greets are available for out-of-town adopters, and transport can be arranged to many states in the Northeast. The adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing, with transports departing every 2-3 weeks. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
