Merida

Merida is a brave girl who sometimes needs a little extra reassurance! She can be a bit shy at first, so it's best to go slow with her. Treats are a fantastic way to show Merida you're a friend, and she also really appreciates baby talk to help her feel comfortable. She loves to be close to her people, whether that's crawling into your lap or walking right beside you. Once she feels secure, she'll show you just how wiggly and affectionate she can be! Merida would benefit from continued confidence building, gentle affection, and positive experiences.

Ideal Home

Merida would do well in a home with children aged 10 and up, as she may be worried at first. She can tolerate sniffing with other dogs but is nervous about fast movements and loud noises, so slow introductions with gentle dogs are recommended.

Ongoing Health

Merida is heartworm positive. APS is currently offering heartworm treatment at no additional cost through our foster-to-adopt period.
