Sarge is a 2-year-old Husky/German Shepherd/Malinois mix weighing in at 65lbs. This handsome hunk is a playful and affectionate boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for fun! He is smart, curious, and full of energy, and he thrives when he has opportunities to play, explore, and be active with his people. Sarge loves other dogs and is always eager to make friends. He will happily nudge a dog to invite them to play and enjoys running and tug of war, especially with dogs his size or larger. He has done well with every soul he's met, both big and small, including small humans. He is great at picking up on cues and will back off when another dog is done playing. Sarge is a total lovebug with people, very cuddly, affectionate, and happy to greet new friends, though he may jump a bit and bark when excited. He loves toys and proudly hoards them, lining them up one by one like treasured possessions. One of his cutest habits is doing a full somersault onto his dog bed after running inside or finishing his dinner. Sarge would be an amazing match for an active person or family looking for an adventure buddy.
Ideal Home
Sarge has a moderate to high energy level and would do best in an active home. He would love daily walks, hikes, playtime, and mental stimulation. A fenced yard would be a big bonus, but he could also thrive with a family committed to keeping him exercised. He would do best with another playful pup in the home, as his current BFF is his foster sister Lemon. Older kids or dog-savvy children would be best since he can be jumpy when excited.

Training & Support
Sarge can be a bit reserved for his breed, and only gets barky and jumpy when overly excited. On leash, Sarge is very curious! He does pull but is easily corrected and is used to his gentle leader. He is fully house trained and crate trained, sleeping in his crate overnight and when his people are out. He can also be trusted with free roam, as he is not destructive and just wants a cozy place on the couch to look out the window. With continued leash training, plenty of toys, and lots of outdoor time, Sarge will be a loyal, joyful companion.
