Meet Mo!
This soulful six-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix has a gentle heart and a tricolor coat, just waiting to be cherished in the right peaceful setting. At 75 pounds, Mo is a sweet snuggler who still believes laps are made for him! He's calm and low-energy indoors, and bonds deeply once he feels safe, especially with women, becoming a loyal shadow to his favorite person. Mo is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come. His favorite activity is snuggling close and soaking up affection, making quiet evenings on the couch feel like the coziest place on Earth.
Ideal Home
Mo's heart beats a little faster in today's noisy world. He needs a calm, structured environment in a quiet rural or suburban area, with a securely fenced yard where he can enjoy the outdoors without overwhelming stimuli. Mo needs to be the only pet in the home, as he's curious with a strong prey drive and unfamiliar animals can stress him out. He’s selective about other dogs and would thrive in a home without cats or frequent visitors.
Ongoing Health
Mo needs to avoid poultry due to allergies and has mild arthritis in his hind legs, but it doesn’t stop him from cuddling. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Mo can become anxious and reactive in busy environments due to city living. A guardian experienced with anxiety or reactivity in dogs, who uses positive reinforcement and has patience, will help Mo rebuild his confidence. Consistency and gentle companionship are key, and he’d do especially well with someone who works from home or has a predictable routine.
