Meet Cherry, a 5-year-oldihuahua-Beagle mix who weighs approximately 18 pounds. Despite a difficult start in a hoarding situation and her initial fearfulness, Cherry has blossomed into a loving and affectionate companion who adores snuggles, pets, and attention from her human. She's friendly with dogs and cats and would thrive in a calm home with a laid-back canine friend. Cherry is also potty trained, doesn't chew on things she shouldn't, and enjoys snoozing in her bed, on your lap, by your side, or snuggled up with her human at night.
Ideal Home
Cherry's perfect home would include a securely fenced yard. She needs an adopter who can offer her the time and patience required to help her overcome her fear of new people, build trust, and adjust to her surroundings. Once she trusts you, she'll reward you with her affection, becoming a loyal and protective companion. Cherry is leash and crate resistant, and preference will be given to an experienced adopter who has worked with fearful, non-aggressive dogs. She is also extremely fearful of men, so a female adopter who is home most of the day is preferred.
Ongoing Health
All our dogs are treated with de-wormer, tested for heartworm (if age-appropriate), treated for fleas and ticks, microchipped, and examined by a veterinarian, receiving age-appropriate vaccinations. You will receive a copy of all veterinary work performed at the time of adoption. Cherry will be spayed through us prior to finalizing her adoption. Please note that information regarding a dog's age and breed is based on what we are told by the surrendering party or the veterinarian's best guess. While we make every effort to be accurate, we cannot guarantee this information is 100% correct, especially for our mixed-breed friends.
Training & Support
Cherry is leash and crate resistant. An experienced adopter with fearful, but non-aggressive behavior will take preference. She is extremely fearful of men, so it's preferred her adopter is female and home for most of the day.

Transporation
We are located in Rochester, NY, and adopt to residents within the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require a home visit. You must live in the area to adopt, and we will not respond to requests from outside the area or country.
