Gunner from TEXAS

Gunner is a handsome 3-year-old, 50-pound black and tan hound mix with a heart full of love to give! He came to us from a small rural shelter and has quickly shown us what a good boy he is. Gunner adores human attention and will happily snuggle up on the couch for some petting, especially when it's hot out! He enjoys his toys and playing with other dogs, but his favorite place to be is inside with the air conditioning. Gunner is crate-trained, comes when called, walks well on a leash, and is a good sport during baths. He loves car rides and knows how to sit for a treat.

Ideal Home

Gunner would love a home where he can relax indoors and enjoy the company of his humans. While he enjoys playing with other dogs, he can get a little too excited by squirrels and passersby, so a yard with secure fencing would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Gunner is neutered, vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Gunner sometimes counter-surfs and can raid the garbage if cabinets aren't secured with a baby lock. He also barks at people, dogs, and cats he sees outside. Understanding his hound instincts and providing consistent training will help him thrive.
