At just 4 months old, this adorable Pit Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix is already showing what an incredible companion she's going to become. Part of a litter of three, Bellona has a thoughtful, independent personality that sets her apart. She still loves all the fun that comes with being a puppy – playing with her siblings, chasing toys, and cuddling up for naps – but there's something about her that feels just a little wiser. She's observant, eager to learn, and always seems ready for the next challenge! Bellona absolutely loves attention and affection from her people, but she's also confident enough to entertain herself when needed. She has a wonderful balance of independence and companionship, making her the perfect puppy for someone looking for a dog that's both playful and easy to spend time with!

Ideal Home

Bellona would thrive in a home that can continue her training and help her grow with patience, consistency, and plenty of love. Families with young children should be prepared to reinforce polite manners and supervised interactions due to her enthusiastic greetings. Slow, supervised introductions would be recommended for homes with cats.

Ongoing Health

Bellona is current on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, and flea prevention. She will receive a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable and a heartworm test prior to adoption. She has a clean bill of health for travel.

Training & Support

Bellona is incredibly food motivated and eager to learn, already knowing how to sit and quickly picking up commands like "paw," "lay down," and "stay." She is doing an amazing job with potty and crate training, following a structured routine. She is working on impulse control around meal times and has made great progress in waiting for her food. As an energetic puppy, she is learning to understand that not all dogs want to play rough. She benefits from structure, guidance, and positive reinforcement.

Transportation

Bellona is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our USDA certified transport system. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (with pick-up options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track your pet's journey in real time and receive photo updates.
