Introducing Grover Chillington!
Grover's journey began at a high-kill shelter in Houston, where he was unfortunately placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a wonderful foster family stepped in to save him, and we're so glad they did, because Grover is pure perfection! While initially thought to be around 6 years old, multiple vets now believe he's closer to 2-3 years old, definitely no older than 3. This handsome boy weighs around 48 pounds, making him the perfect medium size. He's a very good boy with an old soul.
Grover is the epitome of chill. He thrives when he's part of the action, whether that's lounging in the backyard, joining you for a walk, or finding the coziest spot for a nap. He enjoys exploring but isn't a high-energy athlete. A couple of daily walks and quality time with his family are all he needs to be a happy pup. His foster family has a farm, and even with free rein, Grover stays close to his foster dad, showing he's just as great off-leash as he is on. He's fully house-trained and has excellent indoor manners. Grover settles in nicely, gets along with everyone he meets, isn't destructive, and appreciates a comfy bed after a day of adventures. He can be a little shy initially but quickly warms up for belly rubs.
His ideal forever home would be filled with lots of love, a soft place to sleep, and people who cherish having a devoted canine companion by their side. Grover has done well with other dogs and farm animals and enjoys making new friends with his gentle, friendly, and charming personality. We suspect he might be a hound/cattle dog mix, but we're not entirely sure. He's not a big barker and has a lower energy level, making him a unique find if those are indeed his breeds!
