Petey

Petey is a 2-year-old male Pit Bull Terrier mix with a strong spirit and a sharp mind. He came into foster care after his needs were not being met, requiring court involvement. Despite this challenging start, Petey has shown incredible resilience and a genuine desire to learn and thrive. He loves to have a "job" and has a particular fondness for carrying sticks! He is highly food-motivated, intelligent, and engages enthusiastically in training sessions. Petey has formed a close bond with his foster dad and would cherish one-on-one attention in his forever home.

Ideal Home

Petey would do best in a home with experienced, dog-savvy adults. He needs a structured environment with clear and consistent expectations, supervision, and plenty of enrichment activities. Due to a past reactivity around a small foster dog, Petey will need slow introductions and should not be placed in a home with small or fragile dogs.

Petey is neutered.

Training & Support

Petey is currently working on calm routines and positive-reinforcement training. He is highly food-motivated and intelligent, making him a joy to train. A commitment to continued training and secure management of his environment will be essential for his success.
