Alder

Alder is a handsome 3-year-old Pyr who came to us from TX, where he was a stray. Thankfully, he is one of the lucky ones who made it out and is on his way to finding a loving, forever home. Alder is a shy but friendly gentleman who craves affection and attention, and we suspect he'll master the Pyr paw in no time. He seems interested in playing with other dogs but is unsure, so a home with a calmer, playful dog would be beneficial. Once Alder can decompress, we think he will come out of his shell. He is a bit protective of his food, so he'll need to be fed separately from other dogs. He doesn't seem to mind cats and would likely do well in a home with children beyond the screeching years. A fenced yard would be ideal, but he does walk well on a leash, so as long as you're prepared for daily walks, a home without one is acceptable. Just don't expect him to wander freely outside, as he likely will not stay close to home.

Ideal Home

A home with a calmer, playful dog would be beneficial. A fenced yard is ideal, but not required if you are committed to daily walks. A home with children beyond the screeching years would likely be fine.
