He has a magical balance of knowing when to play and when to relax, and his emotional intelligence allows him to read the room and other dogs perfectly. He's likely a German Shepherd Mix, with a sturdy, athletic build perfect for adventures and cuddles.

Ideal Home

Walter would do best in a home with a medium-energy dog sibling who enjoys playtime but also appreciates quiet naps. He is looking for a feline-free sanctuary, as cats are a little too exciting for his taste. He can adapt to a large backyard or a cozy city apartment, as he is an expert leash walker and doesn't require a massive yard.

Ongoing Health

Walter is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. He has received multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, has been spayed/neutered, and is on flea prevention and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has also tested negative for heartworm.

Training & Support

Walter is already crate trained and potty trained, making him a dream to transition into your home. He is a perfect gentleman in his crate, even with distractions, and is a dream in the car. He is also dog-social and excellent at reading other dogs' body language, knowing how to politely ask for space when needed.

Transporation

Walter is currently in a foster home in the Greater Houston area, Texas. Transportation is available nationwide via a USDA-certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick-up locations are in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
