Hiromi

Hiromi is a lovely Labrador mix, about a year old and weighing around 40 lbs. She was rescued in May 2023 after being found wandering the streets, malnourished and covered in ticks and fleas. Despite her rough start, Hiromi is an active, playful, and energetic girl who is social with adults. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she blossoms into a very loving and kind companion. She is already crate and leash trained!

Ideal Home

Hiromi would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard where she can play and explore safely. She needs a family that enjoys outdoor activities and daily walks. It's important that her new family understands the needs of a rescued animal and is willing to give her at least three months to show her full personality, as she may need time to decompress and feel secure. Patience and a willingness to provide education and protection are key for this sweet girl.

Ongoing Health

Hiromi has completed a comprehensive health protocol including: spay/neuter certificate, two DHPPI vaccines, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, a negative 4DX test and heartworm test certificate. She is also on monthly preventive medication for fleas, ticks, and heartworm (Nexgard Spectra). She has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.

Training & Support

While Hiromi is crate and leash trained, she is not yet house-trained. The rescue team understands that house-training every fostered pet is a significant undertaking, and they are looking for a family that can patiently guide her in this area. Experience with dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies, would be a great asset.

Transportation

Hiromi is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast as part of a cross-country transport if adopted.
