About Kermit the Dog
Kermit the Dog here and with a name like that would you expect anything but legs ready to bounce and just enough goofiness to keep life fun and full of laughs? Of course not! Kermit is built like he was designed in sport mode, sleek lines, brindle tiger stripes, and he is just the right size! At an estimated 2 years old and 44 lbs. he is big enough for adventure, small enough to fit perfectly on your couch (or your lap if he gets to choose). Want to see this brindle babe turned cuddle connoisseur in action? Head to YouTube and search Kermit Tiger Stripes & Love-Bug-Vibes and then come right back to meet the boy behind the bounce. Kermit is house trained, crate trained and trusted to free roam in his foster home because his house manners are solid. He rides well in the car, recalls easily off food and toys, and once he settles into a space, he'll happily lay down and watch TV like he pays the streaming bill. New environments can make him a little timid at first but give him a few minutes to decompress and he finds his footing. When he does, his affectionate side shows up in full. And let's talk about that affectionate side. Kermit is what we lovingly call a Velcro boy. Once he bonds, he bonds. He will lean, press, snuggle, and inch just a little closer. He genuinely seeks out affection and loves being near his people. But don't worry, this isn't a full court press all the time, he responds well to boundaries, structure, and clear expectations. With other dogs, Kermit is social and he has done well with big and small dogs, male and female, and has played nicely with dogs who share his bouncy, deer-like style. When meeting new dogs on leash he is polite but keeps it brief. If the vibes are right, he is happy to join in a play session, but he doesn't need it, he is happy to hang out with the crew or simply run around in the sun. He is a bit of a lover boy who loves the confident female dogs, they bring out a different side of him and we love to see his romantic side. Whether he has ever seen them or one was mean to him, we will never know but Kermit will need a cat free home. When he met our house cat, he was a bit like he had seen a ghost and his nervous fear tells us he wouldn't be his best self with a cat in the home. In a home environment, Kermit settles in beautifully. He seeks affection, settles easily and shows more of his sweet, cuddly personality every day. Kermit would thrive with an adopter who appreciates a dog with energy, sensitivity, and a big capacity for connection. Someone who enjoys both playful yard time and quiet couch evenings. Someone who sees the stripes and knows there is a loyal, loving heart underneath. If you're looking for a brindle best friend who will run with you by day and glue himself to your side by night, Kermit is ready.
