Copper

Copper is a 5-year-old, 48-pound purebred Border Collie with a heart full of love and energy to spare! He recently found himself in rescue after his beloved family could no longer keep him. Copper is a stunning blue merle who has embraced his new life with enthusiasm. He adores people of all ages, especially children, and thrives on interaction.

Ideal Home

Copper would do best in a home with a consistent routine and a fenced yard where he can safely run and play. A canine companion would be wonderful, as he enjoys wrestling with his current doggie housemate. He is not good with cats and is highly focused on chickens, so a home without cats or caged small animals is a must.

Ongoing Health

Copper is a healthy boy, currently up to date on all vaccinations.

Training & Support

Copper is a blank slate and eager to please, responding best to gentle guidance and clear commands. He's learning indoor manners and is doing well with potty training, though he keeps his crate clean during the workday. He's mastering "sit" for affection and walks nicely on a leash. He loves his crate and will preemptively go in for a treat, which he takes gently. His favorite command seems to be "Copper, come!"
