Nona is a 1-year-old, 50 lb, spayed female Staffie mix who is as sweet as she is playful. She's entering her older puppy phase, where her confidence is growing, and she's learning to channel her joyful energy into being the best companion. Nona is built like a little tank with a short, sturdy frame, and she loves to zoom around the yard with her favorite toys. She greets her foster mom with an enthusiastic flying leap and wiggles her whole body when she's excited. Nona is a social butterfly who loves meeting new friends, including a recent positive encounter with a small child. She's clever and motivated by toys and treats, making training a fun experience. She's mastered "sit" and is working on her leash manners. Nona is crate trained, potty trained, and can be a bit of a shy watchdog, sounding the alarm for unfamiliar sights or sounds. Her adorable underbite adds to her charming goofiness. She's dog-friendly and gets along well with her foster siblings and uncle, though she'd do best with a canine companion who respects personal space. While she hasn't been cat or kid-tested in a home, her personality suggests she'd do well in a calm home with respectful children who understand how to interact with an older puppy. Nona is expected to mature into a sturdy, medium-to-large-sized dog.
Ideal Home
Nona would thrive in a home where she can continue to build confidence and receive consistent positive reinforcement. She'd do well with a confident canine friend to play with and learn from, but she would also be happy as an only pet. She might do well in a home with respectful, well-mannered children who understand how to interact with an older puppy.
Ongoing Health
Nona is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations. She is expected to fill out into a sturdy, medium-to-large-sized dog.
Training & Support
Nona is fully crate trained and doing great with her potty training, but she will need continued reinforcement of her routine. She is working on her leash manners and can be a bit shy around new things. She is highly motivated by toys and treats, which will make training fun and rewarding.
