Smokey

Smokey is a handsome 2-year-old male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who weighs 60 pounds. He came to us as a stray and is now fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and ready to find his forever family! Smokey has a low to moderate energy level; he enjoys playing with other dogs and cuddling on the couch. He's a smart, quick learner who is very submissive and kind-hearted. Smokey is described as affectionate, loyal, and a total couch potato who loves a good snuggle.

Ideal Home

Smokey would prefer a home without cats. He would thrive in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people and would do best in a home with a doggie companion. He would love a home with someone who works from home or is only away for a few hours a day, as he has some separation anxiety. Due to this, Smokey would be best suited for a house rather than an apartment.

Smokey is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Training & Support

Smokey is fully potty trained. He walks great on a leash, though he can be a little nervous around strangers and may bark out of excitement, but he is easily redirected. He does pull slightly at the beginning of walks but settles down. Smokey is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut inside. He does cry for a bit when left alone but eventually stops and does not tear things up.

Transportation

Smokey is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible for transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.
