Meet Chanel, a resilient and sweet 3 to 4-year-old terrier mix. Chanel's journey began in a crowded New Mexico shelter where she was found abandoned and terrified, even facing a euthanasia list. Thankfully, she was brought to Texas and has blossomed into an energetic and happy dog who now donates blood to help save other animals. While her transformation is incredible, she is still learning to trust and is searching for a patient family to help her rebuild her faith in humanity. Chanel enjoys playing with soft squeaky toys but can be easily startled by loud noises. She is also still working through her past trauma and may flinch if hands reach toward her too quickly. She needs a gentle and understanding environment where she can feel safe and take things at her own pace.
Ideal Home
Chanel would thrive in a patient home with a canine companion to help her build confidence and trust.
Ongoing Health
Chanel is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, heartworm testing, and prevention, and flea prevention. She has also been spayed and microchipped.
Training & Support
Chanel is still learning to trust and can be flinchy. She will need continued patience and gentle guidance to help her overcome her past trauma and learn to play with toys.

Transportation
Chanel is currently located in Texas. Transportation is available to VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN, and OH. AZ will be available soon. Transportation fees range from $100-$500, with private custom transport routes available upon request. Texas adopters have a flat rate fee of $250 for in-state transportation. Our transport vehicles are equipped with air conditioning and staffed by attendants providing 24-hour care. You can follow your pet's journey on a private Facebook event page. Pick-up locations will be coordinated by our Adoption Coordinator. For pick-ups at our Angleton, TX location, there is a $75 fee which includes all vetting.
