Meet Zara, a dog who seems to run on pure excitement! She's a champion of long walks, happy to go for miles and still have energy to spare. When she finally settles down, she's your personal weighted blanket, committing to snuggles with her full body weight. At night, she firmly believes the bed is hers, leaving you whatever corner she deems fit. Zara wants to be involved in everything, from supervising laundry to being a hopeful sous-chef in the kitchen. She's always ready for an adventure, waiting by the door as if she has a ticket and a carry-on!
Her favorite sport is fetch, though tennis balls are no match for her enthusiastic jaw. Chuckit rubber balls are the true warriors here, and she chases them with the focus of an athlete in training. Indoors, she moves like a silent ninja, appearing behind you as if by magic. She's housebroken and not destructive to furniture, blankets, or shoes, but cute stuffed toys are dismantled with surgical precision.
Zara knows sit, stay, down, and come. She's working on heel, and her excitement sometimes gets the best of her. Meeting new people can bring out a bouncy, barky side, especially if they're wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses – she finds that combination suspicious! She can occasionally have an attitude, so consistent, confident direction is a must. She pushes boundaries, especially with the vacuum. Outside, squirrels and bunnies flip her straight into chase mode, and smaller dogs often receive an intense barked review.
Ideal Home
A fenced yard is a life-saver for Zara's zoomies, allowing her to run safely. She could do well with another confident large dog who can be a steady canine role model. Older, dog-experienced, respectful kids who capture her attention will be her personal fan club.
Ongoing Health
Zara is in the middle of a full glow-up! Her coat is looking better daily, and she's building impressive muscle. She's easy to bathe and tolerates nail trims.
Training & Support
Zara is incredibly eager to learn and her brain runs almost as fast as her legs. If she doesn't get a few mental workouts a day, she'll let you know she's bored. Provide puzzles, training sessions, or new tasks, and she lights up. She would likely excel at agility and scent work. She is working on her "heel" and can be bouncy and barky with new people, particularly those wearing hats and sunglasses. She also pushes boundaries with the vacuum and can be reactive to squirrels, bunnies, and smaller dogs when outside.
