Bubba

Meet Bubba, a handsome 4-year-old Lab mix with a heart full of love and a need for a fresh start. Life took an unexpected turn for Bubba two years ago when his beloved owner suffered a stroke and could no longer provide the consistent care he deserved. Despite these changes, Bubba remains a happy and affectionate boy who truly loves his people. He had even begun professional training and was making wonderful progress before his owner's health changed. While his training has regressed without continued structure, with patience, consistency, and ongoing training, Bubba has every opportunity to flourish!

Ideal Home

Bubba can be anxious in new or overwhelming situations and lacks confidence, which has unfortunately led to fear-based reactivity. He has given warning nips when feeling uncomfortable, so it's crucial his future family understands his needs and is committed to helping him build confidence through positive reinforcement. Bubba currently lives with an 11-year-old child and absolutely adores him, but he would do best in a home with older children who can respect his boundaries. While he has gotten along with some dogs, we believe he would be happiest as the only pet in the home, where he can receive all the love, attention, and stability he deserves.

Ongoing Health

Bubba is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Bubba has shown fear-based reactivity and has given warning nips when uncomfortable due to anxiety and lack of confidence. He requires a patient and understanding family committed to positive reinforcement training to help him build confidence and learn to manage his reactions.
