Howdy

Meet Howdy! This adorable pup is a bundle of joy and the sweetest little guy around. Howdy's mom was a stray found near a busy freeway, but thankfully, she and her friend were rescued. Soon after, Momma Abilene delivered our precious Texas litter! Howdy was born on March 19, 2026, and at 10 weeks old (as of May 30, 2026), he's a playful male ready to find his forever home. He currently weighs about 15 pounds and is expected to grow into a medium to large-sized dog, with his momma weighing around 60 pounds. Howdy will be adopted out on a neuter contract and will be neutered between 6 months and 1 year of age. He's friendly with everyone he meets, including dogs, cats, and children. His foster mom describes him as a bundle of joy who loves belly rubs and playing with his foster siblings.

Ideal Home

Howdy would thrive in a home with a fully fenced yard or with an active family who can help him burn off his puppy energy.

Ongoing Health

Howdy will be fully vaccinated and microchipped before adoption. He is on a neuter contract and will be neutered between 6 months and 1 year of age.

Training & Support

Howdy is not quite potty trained yet and will need a patient family to continue working with him. He is catching on quickly! He is also still learning crate training and is currently doing well in a baby-gated room, with slow introductions to the crate. We strongly encourage all puppies under one year old to attend puppy obedience classes.
