Shadow

Meet Shadow! This handsome, athletic boy is approximately 2.5 years old and weighs around 65-70 pounds. We believe he's a mix of German Shepherd, American Staffordshire Terrier, and American Pit Bull Terrier, with possibly a few other breeds mixed in. This has resulted in an incredibly intelligent, loyal, expressive, and affectionate companion who has the brains of a shepherd and the loving nature of a bully breed.

Shadow is a big personality dog with an even bigger heart. He's goofy, hilarious, expressive, and quite talkative, always ready to share his opinions with funny noises, dramatic looks, or whole-body communication. He's aware he's a large dog and can sometimes be a lovable wrecking ball without realizing it! Despite his silliness, Shadow is a smart and obedient dog who forms deep bonds with his people. He thrives on companionship and wants to be involved in every part of your life, whether it's walks, car rides, or just lounging on the couch. He's very food-motivated, eager to learn, and responds well to redirection and structure. He walks nicely on a leash and can usually be easily redirected.

Ideal Home

Shadow would do best with an adopter who understands structure, dog behavior, boundaries, and how to properly manage arousal levels and overstimulation. He needs an active environment with both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Because he can get into mischief if bored or under-stimulated (like counter-surfing), he needs supervision and engaging activities.

Training & Support

Shadow is a smart and obedient dog who thrives with consistency and structure. He is eager to learn and responds well to redirection. If bored or under-stimulated, he may find his own entertainment, so providing enrichment toys and continued training is important.
