Winy is a charming 1-year-old male Labrador Creole mix, weighing around 30 lbs. He's a loving, intelligent, and playful boy who was rescued in March 2024. Winy is energetic and sociable with everyone, including children and other dogs. He can be a little shy at first when meeting new people, but he quickly warms up and melts into your arms with affection. He's described as docile, joyful, and loyal, and he absolutely loves to play! Winy is already crate and leash trained. He was found with his six siblings in a field shortly after birth.
Ideal Home
Winy would thrive in a home with an owner who is experienced in dog behavior and training. An active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has an open mind about the needs of rescued animals would be a great fit. Owners should have a fenced backyard and demonstrate high tolerance and patience, understanding that rescued animals require protection and education.
Ongoing Health
Winy has completed a comprehensive health protocol including being spayed/neutered, receiving DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and microchipping. He has also had a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Winy is crate and leash trained. However, it's important to note that he is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this. Potential adopters should have experience with dog behavior and training, and a willingness to provide ongoing education and patience for a rescued animal.
