With her soft eyes, quiet company, and peaceful presence, Sandy is the dog equivalent of that deep inhale & exhale after a long, hard day. Gentle and thoughtful, she is a dog that you might not notice in a room full of dogs, but once you do, and make that connection, you quickly realize you never want to be without her and the way she feels. Sandy appreciates a quieter, calmer lifestyle and settles in beautifully when given the chance to take things at her own pace. Once she feels safe, there is a peacefulness to her presence that is incredibly grounding. She is not busy or demanding, she simply is, and it makes a home feel softer just having her in it.
Her approach to love is slow and steady. She takes her time getting to know new people and prefers not to be rushed into affection. She is not reactive or pushy, she simply likes a little space in the beginning while she observes and understands her surroundings. And then, almost without you noticing when it happened, she starts choosing you. Sitting a little closer. Following you from room to room. Slipping her head slightly under your hand. Quietly being there. That connection, when it comes, is deeply loyal and genuinely heartwarming. Sandy forms bonds that feel intentional and real. She is the kind of dog who may not be in your lap on day one, but becomes your shadow in the most comforting, easy way once she trusts you.
With other dogs, Sandy is polite and respectful. She does not go out of her way to play, but she coexists nicely and allows space for others. A calm dog companion could be a nice influence, but it is not a requirement. She is just as content focusing on her person. Feline friends? They are welcome too! Sandy has been respectfully avoidant with cats and her presence has a very non-threatening energy that cats seem to truly sense.
