Junie is a 4-year-old Pitbull mix with beautiful brindle coloring and a smile that will light up your life! She was rescued after being found alone in the middle of the road, clearly having had a rough start with little to no proper care. When she arrived, she was underweight and ate ravenously, needing small meals to begin her recovery. Junie has been with us for over a year now, and while we can only imagine what she endured before, she has truly blossomed into a happy and loving girl. She is energetic, loves to play fetch and tug-of-war, and her absolute favorite thing is a good game of fetch with a tennis ball! Walks are another highlight of her day, and she often expresses her joy by rolling in the grass. Junie is eager to please and will always sit pretty for a treat – she’s not picky! She loves attention and wants to be the star of her own home.
Ideal Home
Junie would thrive as the only child in her home, as she enjoys being the center of attention. Due to her tendency to resource guard, we recommend a home without children. She would still love to have canine companions for walks and playtime.
Ongoing Health
Junie tested positive for heartworms upon arrival but has successfully completed her treatment and tested negative as of July 22, 2025. She is now cured! We cannot overstate the importance of consistent heartworm preventive for her continued health.
Training & Support
Junie tends to resource guard her belongings. Positive reinforcement and continued training will help her feel secure. Providing her with plenty of toys for fetch and tug-of-war can help redirect her energy and focus.
