About Walden

Meet Walden, or Wally to his friends! Wally is a young, goofy, and determined beagle who's ready to find his perfect match. He's a professional cuddler who loves nothing more than curling up with his favorite people for a nap after a day of play. Wally wakes up each morning eager to start the day, playing chase and wrestling with his dog friends. True to his beagle roots, Wally loves slow, sniffy walks and is always up for a car ride or a new trick—he's already mastered sit, down, touch, dance, and shake! He's treat-motivated and loves puzzle toys, lick mats, and moving his toys around the house (and sometimes outside to bury them). Wally is still learning about the world and can be shy with new people, especially if approached too quickly. He does best when given time and space to warm up at his own pace. With a little patience and understanding, he'll reward you with endless affection and loyalty.

Ideal Home

Wally is happiest in a home with at least one confident canine companion to show him the ropes and join in his adventures. His play style is rowdy and fun, and he thrives in a calm, predictable environment with older, considerate kids and adults who understand his need for gentle introductions.

Ongoing Health

Wally is a Ridglan Farms Beagle, and potential adopters should familiarize themselves with the special information pertaining to these research beagles on the rescue's website.

Training & Support

Wally is working on potty training and needs someone patient to continue this training. He also needs guidance on what's okay to chew. When meeting new people, he is scared if approached too quickly and does best when given his own time and space to warm up. Adopters should be able to read his body language, advocate for him in new environments, and avoid forcing interactions.
