Big Mama

Big Mama is an affectionate, athletic, adventure-loving 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix who enjoys going on walks and meeting new people! She was found in the middle of the road and taken to a local shelter where, due to her breed mix, she was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, with the help of some dedicated individuals, Big Mama was rescued and brought to us. She was a hefty girl when found, weighing over 70lbs, but she's now at a healthier weight of around 60lbs. Big Mama loves to cuddle and is incredibly people-friendly. She can sometimes be unaware of her size, especially when she's zooming around the yard at high speeds! When she was in a home environment, she'd often jump on a tall patio table to sunbathe, showing her love for lounging indoors and playing outdoors.

Ideal Home

Big Mama would do best in a home without young children due to her energy level and size. She seems to do best with medium to large male dogs, and can be more assertive with female dogs. A home with only male dogs would be ideal. While she enjoys playing with other dogs, she does not require a canine sibling to live her best life.

Ongoing Health

Big Mama has reached a healthier weight and no specific ongoing health concerns are noted.

Training & Support

Big Mama is potty and crate trained, knows "sit" and "shake," is very smart, and walks well on a leash.
