BUDDY

Buddy is a handsome 2-3 year old gentleman who came to us a few months ago after being found scavenging for food at a landfill. He had scabs on his face, neck, and shoulders, likely from dog fights, and his ribs were showing. Thankfully, he's now at a good weight and looking as dashing as ever! Buddy loves people and is non-reactive to other dogs at the shelter, even sharing kennel space with them without issue. We don't know how he'd do with cats, as he hasn't been introduced to any in our care. He's incredibly eager to please and a quick learner, mastering "sit" before entering his enclosure after just two repetitions! He's treat-motivated, which will make training a breeze. Buddy is a solid, muscular 54 pounds, though not very tall. He's neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and crate trained. He walks on a leash but does pull.

Ideal Home

Buddy would be a wonderful companion for an active person or family who can include him in their life and provide him with plenty of exercise. He needs a securely fenced yard for playtime and relaxation.

Buddy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Buddy is treat-motivated and a fast learner, already mastering "sit." He walks on a leash but tends to pull, so continued leash training would be beneficial.
