Sweetie

Sweetie is a one-year-old Pitbull with a heart of gold! She was rescued from a shelter in Lancaster, LA, after being found as a stray and lactating. Despite her past, Sweetie yearns for affection and closeness to humans. She's gentle, doesn't mind nail trims, and walks well on a leash without pulling or reacting. Sweetie is also potty-trained, though she prefers to go off-leash, so a fenced yard or a secure area nearby is ideal. She's a bit shy and would likely do best as the only pet or with mellow, laid-back animals, provided introductions are very slow and gentle.

A patient and understanding adopter who can take things slow and give Sweetie the space she needs to warm up. She would likely do best as the only pet or with mellow, laid-back animals that don't overwhelm her.

Ongoing Health

Sweetie needs to gain about 7 more pounds and is currently being fed slowly throughout the day to help her reach a healthy weight. She is scheduled for a spay surgery on 7/17/2.

Training & Support

Sweetie is shy and nervous and needs an adopter willing to go slow and be patient with her. She is potty-trained but prefers to go off-leash.
