Kaia

Meet Kaia! This 5-year-old Shepherd mix is spayed and housebroken. Kaia's past is a bit of a mystery, but we know she survived a tough life at a gas station, facing hardship and neglect. Despite her challenging beginnings, she is incredibly gentle with people and longs for a peaceful home where she can finally feel safe and loved. Kaia is sweet with children, smart, trainable, and non-destructive, and she's perfectly content being left home alone. She may be reactive to other dogs due to her past experiences, but she's learning to get along with her foster brother with slow introductions. With people, Kaia is affectionate, loyal, and deeply loving. She deserves a family that will give her the love, safety, and kindness she's always deserved.

Ideal Home

Kaia would thrive in a quiet home with a couch to call her own and people to shower her with affection. She is good with children and can be left alone, but needs a patient owner who understands her past reactivity towards other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Kaia has an old, imperfectly healed injury on her front left leg and her left ear also shows signs of her past.

Training & Support

Kaia is housebroken and non-destructive. She can be reactive to other dogs, but is settling in well with slow introductions. She is smart and trainable, and will do best with continued positive reinforcement and patience.
