Huey Loves Hugs

Huey is a handsome and athletic 2-year-old, approximately 56 lb, who we suspect is a Labrador mix. He's a dog with legs made for adventure and a heart full of love to share. Huey has expressive ears that don't miss a thing! He's been living in a foster home, mastering skills to be the best boy and is ready for his forever home. Huey is incredibly smart, motivated, and responds well to confident leadership. He thrives with boundaries, is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows how to settle indoors. His fosters rave about how he enjoys being a quiet shadow, always wanting to be close to his people.

Ideal Home

Huey would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and play freely. He is not suited for apartment living due to his need for outdoor space and his ongoing leash training in busy areas. He has previously lived successfully in busy households with multiple dogs and children, but long-term living with children is not ideal for him. He would do best in a calm, structured home.

Huey has no known ongoing health conditions to report.

Training & Support

Huey has a common rescue dog quirk: resource guarding around food. He doesn't like other dogs attempting to eat his food. This is easily managed by feeding him and other dogs separately (e.g., in crates) and avoiding offering treats or table food to any dogs. A one-dog household would also eliminate this potential tension. He is house-trained and crate-trained.

Huey is available for adoption to anywhere in the US. We offer transport to and near NV, MT, CO, UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and the East Coast. PNW adoptions use a USDA licensed semi-truck with air conditioning and attentive staff. East Coast adoptions utilize a private, air-conditioned 3LP-run van or bus.
