Meet Ty!
Ty is an incredible dog with a stellar personality. This handsome 6-year-old Weimaraner/American Foxhound mix has a zest for life and a heart full of love. He's light on his feet, playful with both humans and other dogs, and has a smile that shows up whenever he gets excited, which is quite often! Ty's DNA results show he is 52% Weimaraner with American Foxhound, Siberian Husky, and even a touch of Chow Chow mixed in. Ty has thrived in his foster home thanks to his amazing foster mom and canine foster siblings. He does best with female pups or male dogs smaller than his 70lb frame. His sweet, buoyant nature makes him a wonderful match for families with active kids, and he'd also be the perfect adventure partner for an active single person or couple. Ty loves to be included in whatever is going on, whether it's a hike, a car ride, or simply spending time with his people. He's an excellent traveler and happy whether riding shotgun or resting in his crate.
Ideal Home
Ty enjoys the outdoors, so a securely fenced backyard is a must. An adopter experienced with large dogs is a plus.
Ongoing Health
Ty is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered.
Training & Support
This handsome pup is crate-trained, house-trained, and doggie-door savvy. He walks well on a leash but, true to his hound heritage, his nose sometimes takes charge if he catches an interesting scent. Continued leash training will help him stay focused on the walk instead of the critters. Ty already knows how to sit on command, especially if there's a treat involved, and is eager to keep learning.

Transporation
Ty is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out-of-town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. The adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
