Fernando is friendly but shy at first, especially when receiving affection. Once he feels safe, his personality shines through with his adorable, serious little face that makes everyone smile. Because of his age, he is naturally calm and laid-back, preferring quiet companionship over chaos. He enjoys being around other dogs and coexisting peacefully, making him a great fit for a home looking for a gentle, low-energy companion. Ideal Home

A home with a fenced backyard, an active family that enjoys outdoor activities, and families with a real intention to rescue a dog and an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals. He would do best in a home with experience in dog behavior and training or a willingness to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience are a must.

Ongoing Health

Fernando Silverio has received a spay/neuter certificate, 2 DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, a Bordetella vaccine, and has been dewormed. He is microchipped, has a 4DX test and certificate, a negative heartworm test certificate, and receives monthly preventive protection from fleas, ticks, and heartworms. He also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.

Training & Support

Fernando is not house-trained. It's essential to understand that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and require an adjustment period. Patience and understanding are crucial for building trust and strengthening your bond.

• Fill out our adoption form.
• Send photos and videos of your home to ensure your future furry friend will be safe.
• If it's a match, we will call or video chat, introduce you to the pet, and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 12 of your references.
• If approved, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food, ensuring your pet is ready to come home.

Transporation

Fernando is currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip if adopted. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery from Mexico to your home. Transport is carefully planned with scheduled trips, a partnered transport company, and comprehensive paperwork, including transport contracts and USDA health certificates. You will receive real-time updates during the journey, and the transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
