Hi, I'm Max! I'm a 2-3 year-old Retriever and Hound mix, weighing about 65 lbs, who arrived at Mississauga Animal Services and has been waiting patiently for my forever home. I've got a big heart, a big voice, and an even bigger love for people, and I'm hoping to find a family who's ready for a loyal sidekick to share life's adventures!
I'm an affectionate, loyal guy who really thrives when I'm with my people. Whether it's heading out for an adventure on the trails or relaxing at home on the couch, I'm happiest when I'm included in whatever you're doing. I like to stay close, and I don't mind letting you know—loudly sometimes—when I'm ready for attention. I've got a very classic hound voice, and I definitely use it when I feel a little left out, so a detached home would be best for me.
I love meeting new dogs and get very excited when I see them on walks. I'm friendly and social, but I do come in pretty enthusiastically, so I can use a bit of guidance to keep things polite. I also get very excited around small animals, and I'd likely chase cats or other small critters, so a cat-free home is best for me.
I could do well in a home with children of any age, though because I'm a bigger, energetic guy, I might accidentally knock over smaller kids when I get excited—it's never on purpose, I just love life a lot.
What I'm really looking for is someone who enjoys a dog with personality—someone who doesn't mind a little noise, a lot of affection, and a companion who wants to be right by their side through everything. I'm loyal, social, and always ready to be part of the action.

Ideal Home
A detached home would be best for me due to my vocal nature. A cat-free home is also a must, as I tend to get too excited around small animals.

Max's adoption fee has been reduced to the cost of a one-year license.

I get very excited when meeting new dogs, so I would benefit from some guidance on polite greetings.
