Meet Ava, a sweet and affectionate 1-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua/Papillon mix with a big personality! Ava loves meeting new dogs and is very dog-friendly, making her a great playmate for another canine companion. She's also happy to be the only dog if she gets plenty of playtime and walks. Ava gets along wonderfully with children of all ages, though supervised interactions are recommended due to her bouncy nature.

Ava is house-trained, non-destructive, and great in her crate when her humans are home. She settles down nicely for naps but does experience some separation anxiety, so a patient adopter who can help her build confidence and independence is key. She's still working on basic obedience skills like sit, stay, and recall, as well as leash manners and focus during training. Car rides are also a challenge for Ava, requiring patience as she learns to settle.

Ideal Home

Ava would thrive in a home with another playful dog, or as the sole pet with ample daily activity. She also does well with children of all ages, though dog-savvy children and supervised interactions are preferred. She needs an adopter who can help her with her separation anxiety and build her confidence.
