Tommy is a sweet and affectionate 10-month-old terrier mix who is currently about 27 lbs and expected to reach around 37 lbs. He was rescued with his mother and born at the shelter, so he's still learning to trust new people and can be a little shy and nervous at first. However, once he warms up, he's incredibly playful, friendly, and loving! Tommy is very active and enjoys running and playing with his dog friends.
Ideal Home
Tommy would thrive in a home with families who have an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals, and who understand that he may need extra protection and education. He would do best with adopters who have experience with dog behavior and training, and who possess a high level of tolerance and patience. It's important for adopters to realize that rescued dogs may have been traumatized and will likely need an adjustment period. Please note: Tommy is NOT house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Tommy has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed/neutered, receiving two DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, and a Bordetella vaccine. He has also been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. He receives monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available.
Training & Support
Tommy is not house-trained and will require consistent effort and patience in this area. Adopters should be prepared for an adjustment period as he continues to build trust and learn about his new environment.
