Bodhi is a handsome, playful 50-pound Black Mouth Cur who is looking for a forever home where he can continue learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. This working breed is known for being loyal, intelligent, and athletic. Bodhi's story hasn’t been the easiest; he was left behind on a property, scared, hungry, and unsure of the world around him. When his foster family first took him in, he was unfamiliar with basic things like doors or living inside a home. But despite his rough start, Bodhi has shown just how resilient and loving he truly is.
Over the past few months in foster care, Bodhi has made incredible progress. He is now housebroken, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. He currently lives with two other dogs and gets along well with them. He can still be a little skittish at first due to his past trauma, but he is not aggressive, just cautious until he feels comfortable. Once he trusts you, his goofy and affectionate personality shines through. He’s playful, silly, and even has an adorable habit of making funny little “growl-purr” noises when being pet. Bodhi is very food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. He loves running around outside, has plenty of energy, and even enjoys swimming.
Ideal Home
Bodhi would thrive in an active home that can give him both structure and adventure. Because he likes to chase cats, he would do best in a cat-free home.
