About Button Mushroom Best Boy
Button is approximately 9 months old and is ready to fill the role of "tiny shadow with floppy ears." He's a professional snuggler, a gentle kiss distributor, a squeaky toy enthusiast, and an emotional support sidekick who believes everyone was put on this earth to love him. This sweet boy is confidence personified, incredibly affectionate, and settles into a bond almost immediately. Button approached every new human experience with enthusiasm: "Hi!!! Are you my best friend now?" He loves attention and happily seeks affection, possessing that wonderful "Velcro-dog" quality of sticking close without being demanding. And let's not forget his ears – one spotted, one solid, both impossibly floppy, bouncing with their own joyful energy.
Button is more of a gentle observer than the life of the party. He shows respectful social skills with other dogs, often leaning submissive and rolling over to show his belly. He enjoys playing with friendly, easygoing dogs, but he’s not interested in rough-and-rowdy play. His play style is sweet and soft. He would do best with canine friends who are kind and socially appropriate, not overly pushy, as he has a tendency to get overlooked. He handled the world around him with calm acceptance, recovering quickly from anything mildly worrying. When unsure, he tends to "pancake" or freeze briefly rather than react aggressively, and he was consistently easy to redirect and reassure. He showed excellent tolerance during handling, allowing touching of his paws, ears, face, and body without concern. He also appears to have a wonderfully balanced energy level, enjoying toys, playing, and exploring, but settling easily and calmly after exercise. He never barked, seemed content with affection, and loved his stuffies. He met cats respectfully and interacted sweetly with children, approaching gently for kisses and snuggles. Button would thrive with a confident, reassuring family that helps him continue building confidence. He could likely do well in a variety of homes, including apartments, as long as he gets continued socialization, structure, playtime, and love. He just wants to be included in whatever his people are doing, preferably with a stuffed toy in his mouth.
Ideal Home
A confident, reassuring family that will help him continue building confidence as he grows. He would likely appreciate canine friends who are kind, socially appropriate, and not overly pushy.
