About Leo

Leo is a 6-year-old, neutered male ACD cross weighing around 35 pounds. Despite a bit of a mix-up in his initial breed identification, DNA testing reveals he's a delightful blend of Cattle Dog, Chihuahua, Minpin, Poodle, and Pomeranian. He's a charming boy who is house and crate trained, enjoys car rides, and is a great walking companion, especially on hikes. Leo gets along well with the dogs in his foster home, but can be selective with other male dogs. He's a smart cookie who's very food-motivated, especially by string cheese, which helps when his stubborn streak appears! Leo's been working on his fitness and loves his daily hikes, which are helping him get into shape. While his off-leash recall is a work in progress, he always comes back. He's cooperative with baths but a little hesitant about brushing.

Ideal Home

We are looking for a home with experience in handling Cattle Dogs, with an active family who can provide a decent level of exercise. A home without small children or cats is essential, and he needs a house with solid fencing. No condos or townhomes, please.

Leo has no known health conditions.

Training & Support

Leo can be stubborn, but string cheese is a great motivator! He needs a patient family, as he takes a couple of weeks to fully relax and show his true personality. He is still learning to be silly and have fun, and his off-leash recall can be slow. He is a little wary of brushing.
