Meet Ponderosa, or Pondsy as we affectionately call him!
This handsome, almost-2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix is a bundle of pure sunshine, a dash of goofiness, and all-around "goodest boy" energy. Weighing around 60 pounds, Pondsy is packed with love, wiggles, and joy. His soft, shiny black coat glows, and his big warm brown eyes could melt anyone's heart. When he sees his people, get ready for the signature Pondsy Wiggle, a wagging tail that goes into overdrive, and a happy plop for belly rubs! Pondsy makes every day an adventure, whether he's hiking, walking, or napping in the car. He's a curious, silly pup always ready for fun, and he's also a total snuggle bug who loves to chill after his adventures.
Ideal Home
Pondsy adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly, medium-energy female dog who enjoys romping and wrestling. However, he'd also be perfectly happy as the sole canine companion, soaking up all the attention. He is best suited for a home without cats, as they are too tempting for him, and without small children, as they can be a bit overwhelming. Teenagers (13+) and adults are perfect, and he will bond deeply with them. An apartment on the first floor could work if he gets enough exercise and mental stimulation, but a yard would make him extra happy.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy has undergone leg surgery and physical therapy. His back leg has a unique character to it now, but it doesn't slow him down one bit! He loves to run, play, and zoom.
Training & Support
Pondsy is described as having great energy and being a loving companion. He is house-trained and crate-trained, and walks well on a leash.

Transportation
Pondsy is located in Texas. We facilitate nationwide adoptions using our USDA certified transport system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Real-time tracking, photo updates, and a private Facebook event page are part of the transport experience. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
