Sheba is a volunteer favorite and has been with us for 3 1/2 years, ever since her mother passed away. She still misses her mom dearly. Sheba is an absolutely stunning dog, and it's obvious her mama loved her very much and took her on long walks, as she is perfect on a leash. Sheba will bond easily with a loving woman who lives a quiet, simple life. She will need decompression time to adjust back to home life after her time in the shelter. Pets grieve too, but this shy dog will be the missing puzzle piece for someone who wants a low-maintenance companion in their very calm and private life. We know that person is out there for her. Sheba's mom saved her from the Memphis Animal Shelter the very day she was scheduled to be euthanized. It took Sheba a while to trust, especially men, and it still takes her time to warm up. Her mom adored this dog, and Sheba adored her. We know, without a doubt, Sheba is capable of boundless love and devotion. We just need to find her the right fit. Sheba loves to be loved on, enjoys a good knuckle bone, and appreciates her time out in the park and car rides. Sheba has been cat tested and was non-reactive.
Ideal Home
Sheba would thrive in a very calm and private home as the only dog. She needs a quiet household without a lot of traffic. She does not always like men, and it takes her a moment to warm up to new faces.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Sheba needs time to decompress and assimilate back into a home environment. She can be slow to trust new people, especially men. Once she warms up, she is very loving.
