About Django

Meet Django!

This bright two-year-old mixed breed is a smart, active companion who builds deep bonds with his people and celebrates their return home like it is the best moment of the day! At about 50 pounds, his sleek black coat with white accents frames a thoughtful face always watching the world with curiosity. Django is the kind of dog who thrives when he has both connection and purpose. He loves to cuddle with the people he trusts, often leaning close for affection or curling up for a cozy nap near the fireplace. That sweet, affectionate side shines brightest once he feels comfortable and safe with his family.

Adventure is equally important to him. Django absolutely loves toys of every kind! Balls, sticks, frisbees, and anything that can be tossed for a game of fetch quickly become his favorite treasures. He enjoys walks, runs, and even swimming, and he proudly carries a stick or ball during walks as if it is his special job for the day. His intelligence shows in how much he enjoys training and learning. Django already knows many cues including sit, stay, down, come, heel, place, leave it, drop it, no bark, and ok as a release cue. Practicing these skills with positive reinforcement helps keep his mind engaged and happy.

Ideal Home

Django would thrive in a quieter, child-free and cat-free home, likely as the only dog, with an active family who understands reactive dogs and enjoys training.

Ongoing Health

Django currently takes daily Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety.

Training & Support

Django does experience fear based reactivity in certain situations. He can feel uncertain around unfamiliar noises, unexpected distractions, or dogs encountered while walking on leash. Because of this, he requires thoughtful management when out in public and benefits from a predictable routine and continued behavior support with an experienced pet parent. He also has a history of resource guarding with another dog around food, toys, or personal space, and there was one minor nip incident involving an unfamiliar person. Meeting guests outside first and allowing him to warm up helps him feel secure. With structure, exercise, and patient guidance, he continues to grow in confidence!
