Brody is a handsome 12.5-year-old, 45lb neutered boy who is up-to-date on all his vaccines and receives monthly flea, tick, and worming treatments. He had his last annual vet check-up on June 10, 2025, and has no known medical issues. Brody enjoys spending time outdoors in a fenced yard and loves car rides, jumping in and out of the vehicle himself. He knows commands such as heel, place, sit, shake, wave, come, stay, and leave it. He particularly enjoys ear scratches but is not a fan of having his tail touched. Brody is currently on Prozac and a low dose of gabapentin to help manage his general anxiety.
Ideal Home
Brody would thrive in an adults-only home with no other pets or children. He would do best in a quiet environment where his owners do not frequently have visitors, as unfamiliar people, especially loud men, and children can trigger his anxiety and reactivity. He also exhibits mild reactivity towards other animals or large/loud/unusual vehicles when on leash, which can manifest as pulling and vocalizing.
Ongoing Health
Brody is on medication for anxiety (Prozac and gabapentin) and is managed for his reactivity. He is nervous at the vet and requires sedation for all exams.
Training & Support
Brody attended a two-week board-and-train program a few years ago and knows several commands. While he can be a little reactive on leash towards other dogs, he responds well to cues like "heel" or "leave it." He has a history of nipping and attempted nipping at people and animals, though he has not broken skin in recent incidents. His anxiety can manifest as aggression, so a calm and predictable environment is crucial for his well-being.
