Opal

Opal is a sweet female adult dog, approximately 2 years old, and described as a Border Collie mix. She was found as a feral mother with her puppies in February 2021. After caring for her babies until they were ready for adoption, Opal came to our facility to begin socializing and building trust with people. It has taken time, but with the help of our dedicated staff and volunteers, she is becoming more comfortable with leash walks each day. Her confidence is boosted by her friend, Huey, and she would do well in a home with an owner who understands she needs time to warm up. While she may be shy at first, Opal is never aggressive, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for her into a loving forever home. She would also do wonderfully with a canine sibling who can help her learn to accept love and become a happy, trusting companion. We all adore Opal and hope she finds the family she deserves to love and trust.

Ideal Home

Opal would do well in a home where she can take her time to warm up and an owner who will be patient with her. She would also thrive with a canine sibling to help her gain confidence.

Ongoing Health

Opal is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm preventative, and has been spayed.

Training & Support

Opal is still learning to trust humans and may be shy at first. She is not aggressive and is slowly becoming more comfortable with leash walks. A patient and understanding owner is key to her continued progress.
