Louie

Louie is a fairly low-key, 60-pound mixed breed boy, estimated to be 8-9 years old. He's often described as an "easy lover" because he genuinely enjoys simply being near his humans, following them around and showing his affection with a desire for treats and belly rubs. Louie has a laid-back personality and enjoys relaxing, whether that's watching TV or keeping his foster dad company while he works. He has a fantastic appetite, and his front teeth don't get in the way of him enjoying his meals! Louie also sleeps very soundly, possibly due to being slightly hearing impaired.

Ideal Home

Louie would love a home where his humans will shower him with the love he truly deserves, and he promises to return it tenfold! He's comfortable being home alone for 5-7 hours, though he may vocalize for a short period when initially left. He'd do best in a home with children aged 10 and up, and he prefers to be the only animal in the household, meaning no cats.

Ongoing Health

Louie is in good health. He had a mass cell tumor removed in 2022 and has been doing well since. His front teeth are not in ideal condition, but this doesn't affect his enthusiastic eating habits.

Training & Support

Louie is crate trained and house trained. While he generally walks well on a leash, he can be a bit fast when excited in new environments. He has shown some reactivity towards other dogs on walks, which is more about unfamiliarity than aggression. Patience and continued positive socialization will help him build confidence in these situations.
