Malouk

Meet Malouk, a 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a gentle soul. He came to us after his person sadly passed away, and he wasn't receiving the care he deserved. Now, Malouk is ready to find a forever home where he can be cherished. Despite being blind, Malouk navigates the world with incredible resilience, finding joy in simple pleasures like walks, naps, and plenty of treats. He still has moments of playful energy that will warm your heart.

Ideal Home

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel safe and settled. He would be perfectly happy as an only pet, but he also does well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand his need for gentle interactions. He has a soft spot for children and is incredibly friendly with people.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind, which can sometimes lead to anxiety. He is doing very well with calming medication and benefits greatly from a consistent and predictable environment. He finds comfort in his crate, especially when left alone.

Training & Support

Malouk is potty trained, although he may occasionally mark indoors. Belly bands have been an effective solution for this. He will also need continued leash training as he can pull, particularly when excited or feeling unsure.

Transporation

Malouk is located in Texas but can be adopted locally or out of state. We can coordinate safe transport to ensure he gets to his new home, and we offer video meet-and-greets to help make sure it's the perfect match.
